Fire Station 3 replaced an earlier East Columbus station and introduced playful elements to engage the neighborhood. A glass-enclosed tower highlights a visible fire pole, meant to delight children watching firefighters slide into action. The building’s design incorporates bold graphics, cylindrical towers, and contrasting materials of red glazed brick and gray fluted masonry, creating a distinctive civic landmark.
