Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects is associated in Columbus, Indiana, with the Advanced Manufacturing Center of Excellence, commissioned through the Cummins Foundation Architecture Program in 2009. Led by César Pelli, the firm became internationally known for architecture that combines technical sophistication with a strong response to public life and urban setting. In Columbus, the project extended Pelli’s longstanding connection to the city through a building dedicated to workforce development, manufacturing education, and civic identity. César Pelli served as Dean of the Yale School of Architecture from 1977 to 1984, and his major honors included the AIA Gold Medal. The firm itself was later recognized with the AIA Architecture Firm Award.
