This large-scale mural by Columbus artist Covert depicts the lively interior of the Columbus Bar, complete with a three-sided bar, two booths, and seventeen patrons. Each figure is a portrait of a local resident who contributed $250 to help fund the project, while the artist humorously included himself in a mirror reflection. Designed to give the illusion of peering through the wall into the bar, the mural adds vibrancy to Fourth Street and reflects the owners’ desire to bring personality to the neighborhood.

Covert, a Columbus-based artist, considers art both a spiritual and therapeutic practice, which informs the warmth and community spirit captured in this work.
