Norman Fletcher is associated in Columbus, Indiana, with the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation Administration Building, Four Seasons Retirement Center, and Parkside Elementary School. A founding partner of The Architects’ Collaborative (TAC), Fletcher helped shape postwar modern architecture through work that balanced functional planning with expressive form and careful attention to community use. Before helping establish TAC in 1945, he worked with Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and Saarinen, Swanson & Associates. In addition to his architectural practice, Fletcher served as vice president of the Boston Society of Architects and later was elected to the National Academy of Design. He also lived at Six Moon Hill in Lexington, Massachusetts, a modern residential development designed by TAC.
