Fire Station 4 adopts a trapezoidal form clad in cinderblock, red and white brick, and glass. Its hose-drying tower stands as the vertical counterpoint to an otherwise modest utilitarian structure, marking one of Venturi’s earliest completed projects. Considered a quintessential example of postmodern architecture, this building is a favorite stop for architects visiting Columbus.
